How to get here:
If you rent a car, ask your car rental agent to highlight the route from the agency office through San Jose to the highway to the Caribbean (Limon). If you become hopelessly lost, ask a taxi driver to guide you to the entrance to Highway 32 and offer him one thousand colones (about $3). Once you are on the highway follow the big green and white roadsigns to Limon, Cahuita, Pto. Viejo, etc. Aviarios is approximately 31 kilometers south of Limon. Driving time is approximately 3 1/2 hours without stops. Six signs announce Aviarios beginning one km. before our gate, which is on the left side. (There are no car rental agencies in Limon.)

If you prefer to travel by bus, take a taxi to “El Gran Terminal Del Caribe”, next to “El Complejo Kamakiri”. Every taxi driver knows it. There are two bus stations for the Limon and Caribbean coast area, so you must be sure to get to the right one! Buy a ticket to Cahuita at the Sixaola window. The direct bus leaves San Jose at 6am, 10am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm, (but always phone first as schedules may change) with a 15 minute rest stop just before Limon. You will be let off at Aviarios if you advise your driver as you board (and again as you re-board after the stop in Limon!) the bus. Approximately 25-30 minutes past Limon, watch for our numerous signs.
