Judy and Luis Arroyo created The Buttercup Center for the rescue and rehabilitation of sloths in 1991 after rescuing their first sloth, Buttercup. The center has since grown in size, numbers and experience. Although rehabilitation and re-introduction is the centers' main goal, it also allows the opportunity to study these virtually unknown creatures.
